When my husband and I decided to get married we did it SIX DAYS later.  Depending on where you are, an outdoor wedding is a nice option.  Cuts down on decorations, lets people wear more casual clothes, and naturally lends itself to a BBQ or potluck reception without feeling tacky.  We had a very ethnically diverse group of friends so we did a potluck and it was fabulous because we had SUCH a variety.  Another helpful hint: have lots of alcohol, that way nobody will remember if things were'nt perfect anyway!!   (I'm only joking, lol!!)  Good luck, I'm sure it'll come together just fine.

I planned my wedding in 9 days! My M-I-L said, you can't do it. I said "Watch me" 9 days later, I had a church wedding in a wedding dress. Husband in a rented tux. Full reception.

It can be done. But SHE has to be the one to do it. She can't expect you to!! I mean you can help, but she can't expect you to do everything. We did a pitch in for the food at the reception. My Mom and other relatives provided the buffet. My best girlfriend and I took care of the phone calls, and the decorations.

I didn't plan to wear a wedding dress to start with, but I couldn't find a simple dress that I liked. And it was getting down to the wire. So I went to David's Bridal and found a nice dress on sale. Then I had to get my Husband a tux, so we would look right.

Good luck!!  If she can do it, it makes for a fun story! People are always impressed!

2 weeks?  my cousin's kind of doing the same thing, but she's at least taking 3 months.  i hope you can get it all done.  and not have to be admitted after the reception.

and cooking for 10 family at holidays is a lot different than cooking for 100 wedding guests!  you better forget everything else and start the cooking now!

Tell her to elope and then have the wedding later, when there's more time.

A friend of mine got engaged around june 20 and got married yesterday the 26 of July and it was beautiful

i don't think its fair for her to ask you to cook too though

they had their wedding for a little under $4,000 i believe it can be done

maybe you should get the food catered i don't think she would be too upset and that would give you more time to plan the other more important aspects of the wedding with her

i do know that i would love my mother to cook for my wedding because nobody cooks as good as your own mom  but i would never put that much pressure and stress on her

but that being said mothers always want their daughters to have the wedding of her dreams and you are probably going to give her everything she wants and love it and not regret one part when you see how beautiful and happy she looks

 the trip back on mothers day was cancelled, and emily & i are planning another wknd of 8/9. My parents are married 50 yrs this yr ( aug 30th--actually same day as michael & I ..weird )

so , as I mentioned in an entry ,incase you didnt see that one-  even though mom/dad dont really have any relationship..just live under same roof, after all 6 kids are out of house, now as of 18 yrs we are all out.( I was last one , when I left at 20),  there is a reason they still remain married.. so it'll be a nice time.. we are making  a nice  video up of them, when they were younger, and current yrs when they do 'stand  next to each other '  for couple photo, which is RARE.. my wedding  I had a few pics to send to my brother john, who has a sister in law who is doing the video for us..

so along w. the video, mom dad younger, now.. all the childrens wedding pics with their spouses, and then pics of the grandkids..sort of like ' here you were, are..and look at the beauty that you created because of ' you two '..

So with prayers said  w. myself & many in my family.. its NOt the reason we are doing it, but maybe it'll give them a lil peace..idk..knowing  ' look at what we created..'

idk. im going off track here maybe . Some siblings laughed when my brother john brought up the topic of an anniversary surprise. I was  a lil annoyed.  yes they argue, but its still a  beautiful thing 50 yrs.WOW..and yes  as I said above, theye are still together, so mean something ..

ok.well emily is in a fast late shower, and I hve so much to do b4 her 5th bday party sunday still..

 She is actuially 5 on friday ..

 he still has to clean BIG time the bar b q. We havent used the thing since last fasll.eww I AM NOT CLEANING THAT!!..

 I usually do, but i have been putting my foot down a bit more, showing him, he has to step up.Im not doing..doing anymore..

on top of that , i just  remembered that   we need a  new umbrella  for patio furniture -officially  tore to peices w. last few ind storms we had last wks .. so have to head to walmart for  that too. The coushons matched..and as much as Id love to get 'matching w. umbrella , I cant BELIEVE thiose coushons cost like 30.00 each . good greef. IDK the price at  walmart for any of it, but the other stores the coushons were that much . we have 5 chairs, so it is costly. 

im annoyed at myself too. cuz we do have the menbership to the direct buy( we make a joke & say ''cult''.. ) you do save so muich  , but i forgot to get down there. Usually things take 2 wks for delivery from manufactuar(sp?)..

ok, well been on this pc too long.. so much rain last night , I have literally 2 yards of mulch ( truck load -3rd one already -ughgh.bacvk hurting.) to do today of mulch in garden areas, i havn't  redone in 2 yrs.I just want it looking pretty wehn family /friends come on over sunday ya know..  I over do it some times, but thats him..I can blame.. he   wants it always to look perfect outside.. but I have been telling  him, 'money dont grown on trees buddy '..

That happened in my state. Good 'ol Indiana. It was a huge story, when it happened here. I'm surprised to see the sudden media attention. It's been almost a year ago, I think.

It was tragic. Absolutely bizarre and tragic. The truth is, the girl's face was so messed up, it was hard to tell. She had a good deal of swelling. The family started to think something was up, about 2 weeks in. But it took another three for them to confirm and accept it.

I write my kids letters, not as often as I should, but I do write them.
